Food for the Hungry responded immediately by providing psychological support to the victims and their families, as well as financial support to 14 families to assist with covering medical bills, funeral debts and other daily urgent needs.  FH also provided counseling training to staff and volunteers who reached out to the community and offered counseling and prayer support to more than 50 families impacted by the school collapse.  In the months following the collapse, FH has hosted prayer services for the community, delivering a message of hope and compassion through singing, praying and encouraging words based on the scriptures.  One man who lost two of his children in the collapse, expressed his thanks to FH efforts, “FH understands our grief.  Thanks for your compassion.”
